| Help Us Save Grant Park!
The Chicago Children's Museum, currently located at Navy Pier, wants to expand and build a new 100,000 sq. ft. structure (mostly underground) in Grant Park (east of Millenium Park). Not only is this illegal according to our Lakefront Protection Ordinance, currently the Children's Museum does not have the funding and therefore our taxpayer dollars may be helping to make up the difference! This is the only location they will consider even though Alderman Brendan Reilly (42 ward) has suggested 24 viable and alternative sites for their project!
See below ways you can help and for further information:
1) Sign the petition to SAVE GRANT PARK
2) Please attend the full City Council vote on Wednesday, June 11th at 9am. The meeting will be held at Chicago City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., 2nd Fl., City Council Chambers. TURNOUT is crucial at this hearing.
3) Call or write your local Alderman!
Tell them to please support 42 ward, Alderman Brendan Reilly and to NOT APPROVE the Children's Museum's plans! If you know they are already supporting Reilly in this fight, then thank them for doing so.
4) Write a Letter to the Editor:
