Tour Michael Reese Hospital Campus
Sunday, May 17th 2009

The walking tour begins at 2:00 p.m. meet under the brick archway that spans 29th Street at South Ellis Avenue.

Walter Gropius, famed architect and founder of the Bauhaus, collaborated on the master plan for the post-war campus expansion of Michael Reese Hospital and directly influenced the design of as many as 8 campus buildings. Except for one building, the entire hospital campus is presently threatened by the City of Chicago's proposed Olympic Village, demolition could start this summer!

Although the tour is free, a suggested donation of $10.00 to help offset the costs of continuing research would be greatly appreciated.
