Each year in January, a press conference is held to unveil Preservation Chicago's "Chicago 7 Most Endangered Buildings." The purpose of the Chicago 7 is to raise public awareness of the threats facing some of our city's most at-risk architectural treasures, whether they are single buildings, unique neighborhoods, or a category of buildings, such as Great Chicago Warehouses or Chicago's Religious Structures.

Preservation Chicago's 2008 most endangered:

1. Chicago Landmarks Ordinance
2. American Book Company Building
3. Devon Avenue Commercial District
4. Grant Park
5. Booker Building
6. Daily News Building and Plaza
7. Norwood Park

Thanks to the attention and actions triggered by being listed among our annual Chicago 7, many of these structures are still standing - and will remain so for future generations.
